World Book Day

Tormead joined in the national celebration of books and reading on World Book Day on Thursday 7th March. Our Sixth Formers came up with some sparkling and inventive costumes in dressing up as literary characters for our Assembly parade. During Assembly, Mr Boyd launched our school-wide ‘Story in a day’, which was read out a section at a time to classes throughout the day. We were reading The Busker by Paul Jennings, a moral tale with a twist! At break and lunch times pupils joined in our Book Swap with our ‘Bring a book, take home a book’ opportunity. There was also a selection of this year’s special £1 World Book Day books available to browse and the English Department ran a Treasure Hunt where pupils followed clues to book titles.
