Tormead student selected for Army Scholarship

We are very proud to announce that one of our Sixth Form students, Grace, has passed the Army Officer Selection Board (AOSB) and been offered a place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. This is a huge achievement given Grace’s age as the AOSB is normally taken at age 21.

Grace was one of over 1000 applicants for the Army Scholarship, of which only 410 made it to the final stages at Westbury, where AOSB has taken place for nearly 100 years. During the gruelling three-day selection process, Grace had to complete leadership tests, interviews, physical tests and academic assessments. Of the 410 candidates that made it to the final stages, Grace was one of only 29 candidates to have been offered the scholarship.

The Army Officer Selection Board is the gateway for entry into the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, regarded around the world as one of the most exacting tests of personality and leadership by military academies and industry alike. The entry requirements are equal for men and women.

Grace is hoping to study Law and will be taking up her place at Sandhurst after completing her university studies.
